Pee Wee Coaching
Question
John,
I'm coaching Pee Wees (7-8) this spring. Last spring I made my coaching debut with my son's Mites (6-7 coach pitch). I never played baseball as a kid...some town softball only. I have chosen two assistants that have solid experience and have a good manual (AlandAlbaseball.com). I'm looking for some free online resources that will help me form a solid understanding of what and how to teach baseball at this level. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tyler Walton
Answer
Hi Tyler,
glad to see you back coaching - and with two assistants too! Having good assistant coaches is a real blessing.
Here is a website that I think you'll really like. Each component of baseball is covered, followed by the mechanics and the corresponding drills/exercises.
Barton's Youth Baseball:

Next on my favourites list is "eTeamz". I've been using "eTeamz" website for years. Excellent site for defensive and offense strategy, drills and exercises. A huge collection of tips and comments.

Best of luck and have a great season,
