QuestionI'm not a highschool athlete.. but i figured you'd be good to ask this quesstion.. Im a sophmore lefty pitcher for the Naval Academy, i just clocked in at 87.. i want to throw 90 by season start.. 87 consistantly.. they do a good job with training but any EI (extra instruction) you have would be much appreciated.. Thanx
AnswerThe three major concerns for pitching speed are 1-Technique, 2- Strength, and 3- Flexibility. If you are already throwing 87 there is a good chance that you have good technique. Your Strength and Flexibilty are extremly important!
If you are not playing fall ball you have a great opportunity to gain alot of strength and explosive power over the next 5-6 months. Send me an e-mail at
[email protected] outlining your off season workout routine. I'll take a look at it and help make some recommendations.
I look forward to looking at your program and helping you hit the magical 90!
