Indoor instruction
Question
I don't know if this is the type of question you are looking for but because of the cold weather we are working 10-11 year olds in a gym. Is there any type of special drills that we can run during the course of the winter to help improve their skills?

Answer
Hi Mark,
You can use most of the same drills you have indoors and out with some variations. For example, sliding drills would have to made without shoes. The advantage is that the hard gym floors (often polished) will give the kids a better and safer slide. Diving slides would be have to be adjusted differently too. For batting practice, use wiffle balls or tennis balls.
The nice thing about indoor practice is that the kids are cleaner and you don't have to chase after the balls. I like to incorporate games into my training sessions. It makes the drills more interesting and fun. So don't be afraid to use the same drills...just use a bit of imagination.
Best of luck,
