League rules

Our league is divided into geographical areas because it covers a large rural area and it would be difficult for kids to travel the farther stretches of the league boundaries for practices. My question is: If a kid who has played on a major league team moves into another team's area within the league boundaries, where does the kid play? I assume he can play on the team he was selected by, but if he chooses not to play on that team, does he need to try out for the team in whose area he now lives or must he be placed on that team?

Doug;
Depending on which baseball program you participate in depends on the rules regarding boundaries. If you play under Little League, reply back, and I can give you a detailed answer. If you fall under another organization, you will have to check with that specific organization concerning those rules.

Thanks for replying so quickly. Yes, we are a Little League league.

Answer
Doug;
According to regulations regarding LEAGUE boundries, a player must reside within those boundries to participate within that league. There is a section regarding the right to form team boundries, and I believe that the league boundry rule applies to team boundries as well. Please contact your local league and/or your local regional center for more information. I have never had to deal with team boundries before.
You are the first to stump me(sort of) on a Little League question. Congratz!
