QuestionMr. Boss,
I appreciate you taking the time to give direction to those who ask. My son is 11 Years old left handed 5' 1" 102#. He has played 1st base and is a very good catcher, these are his predominate positions. He wants to pitch and has pitched at the 10 year old level at least an inning every game. Here is what I need to find out. Where or what is a good visual source of information to help develop his form and skill? He currently warms up good and then takes 20-25 balls and pitches them into a 5' popup multinet everyother day or so from 46'. Should he do something different or throw more practice balls? Thanks for any advice or direction. Mark Shepherd
AnswerMark,
Thanks for the question. I have a great program for bullpen pitching. Send your email address to me at
[email protected] and I will send it to you.
There are a lot of great programs and books out there for reference. The Tom Emanski videos are great. Pitchingmaster.com is great. There are a lot of other great videos. However, nothing beats personal private instruction. If you have a legitimate reputable instructor in your area, get him some lessons. When you have someone who can lead him and teach him and watch him, it makes a huge difference.
Keep it up with him and have fun. Send me your email address and I will get the info to you.
Mike
