errors on the field
Question
my question is; will a baseball player(in the major league)be charged a fee, in other words do they have to pay $ when ever they commit a error in they field, example. The batter hits a grounder towards the third base, the ball hits the third basemans glove but he does not successfully stop it , thats an error, does he have to pay a fee,(money out of his pocket).
I hope you understand my question.
thank you Rebecca from Phoenix
Answer
Rebecca,
There is no requirement that a player pay a fine or anything else when he misses a play in the field.
In some cases, teams have a 'kangeroo court' where they charge players money for committing crimes within baseball, but those are for fun.
Hope this helps!
