Some shoe lines have cleats where the spikes can be replaced. They are screwed in, and have both metal and rubber cleats that can be attached. So I would recommend that you check into one of those. They are nice because not only can you choose which ones to use depending on the league, but you can buy replacements when the spikes you have on wear down. So instead of buying a whole new set of cleats, you can just buy replacement spikes.
I am not aware of any caps for metal spikes. If you play softball, and plan to continue, it will be worth your money to get the ones I mentioned above anyways. The metal cleats are usually more expensive, and arent even allowed in most softball league, so they are a total waste of money. If they made caps, and you decided to cap them, they wouldnt act like metal spikes, so they would be worthless to buy in the first place. The metal spikes work better because of the metal digging into the dirt. IF they are capped, it would be pointless. Might as well have bought rubber ones, right?
Hope you have a great season.
