Freediving classes can eliminate freediving blackouts

Freediving is a sport which is dangerous. It has become very popular these days. It is undertaken by people who love adventure and also love to be in the depths of the water and explore it completely. It is dangerous because while freediving, one has to hold their breath for several moments and they are diving without the use of any apparatus to help them in breathing. People do this because it excites them and it is wonderful to go deep into the water for the purpose of exploring it or taking photographs of the hidden secrets that dwell there. But most people are really quite unaware of the dangers associated with doing this. Those who love freediving must also make themselves aware of all the dangers associated with it.

It is a technique used during diving where the person learns how to hold his breath. People indulge in exciting sports like underwater rugby and hockey. For this they have to hold their breaths for quite a while.

There are freediving classes to give a person the required training. One thing that is done during the training is the apnea walk. Athletes are meant to take a deep breath and then hold their breaths for as long as they can before they feel the necessity to breathe again. They then begin to walk as they hold their breath. As the practise sessions get better, athletes can do about 400 metres of training. Any athlete who is planning on undertaking underwater sports must go for freediving classes to be better prepared for what is in store for him. The exercises they do help the body to get used to anaerobic respiration and the extra build up of carbon dioxide in the system.

Before diving, people hyperventilate to a certain degree. This sends a delay signal to the brain and delays the body's reaction to lack of oxygen. The oxygen level in the blood is not increased by hyperventilation so this is dangerous and can lead to a freediving blackout. Experienced divers are well aware that this could happen and so they only dive when they are supervised or have first aid close by. This is something everyone needs to be cautious about. All experienced divers will have a buddy watching them from a safe distance at the surface. No matter how aware you are of this, a freediving blackout can occur any time.
