When it comes to exploring the underwater environment of the world's oceans, many scuba divers are looking for crystal clear waters teeming with colourful marine creatures and historic wrecks.
However, there is one activity that has become the latest trend during scuba diving holidays and it involves scuba diving at night with a special torch and mask lens.
The activity has been launched at Buddy Dive Resort on the island of Bonaire and by using a special UV light and a Special Contrast Lens that fits over the diver's mask, divers will be able to experience the glowing underwater world.

One participant of the excursion explained: "This unique Night Dive experience is quite like 'Alice falling down the rabbit hole'. You will see corals like you have never imagined, in colours you have never seen underwater. Creatures that you were never aware of before will captivate, amaze and delight you."

Species such as shrimps, lizard fish, hermit crabs and corals are lit up in fluorescent colours and unusual patterns as you swim along exploring the reefs.
The activity is also known as Glow Diving and can be enjoyed on Tuesdays and Thursday at the Buddy Dive Resort, enabling tourists to enjoy day and night diving excursions during their scuba diving holidays.
Bonaire is one of the leading scuba diving destinations in the Caribbean and it boasts average visibility levels of 30 metres plus average water temperatures of 29 degrees Celsius.

The white sand beaches are fringed with turquoise waters and vibrant reefs are located just ten metres away from the shore.
Whatever the diving ability, visitors can enjoy scuba diving adventures to suit their needs. The calm waters, minimal currents and parallel reefs offer the perfect conditions for an enjoyable scuba diving excursion, while the sloping reef and drop-off area allows divers to explore the some of the ocean's finest marine creatures.
The entire coastline has been declared as a marine sanctuary to preserve the marine species and the Caribbean island was voted as the top destination for scuba diving trips for the ninth consecutive year in the 2011 Readers' Choice Awards for Scuba Diving magazine.
