Well known international scuba diver, Shabir Bux, has discovered a new wreck diving site for divers enjoying scuba diving holidays in the ocean in Bay of Bengal, Chandrabhaga near Knar in India.
The wreck of an ancient 300-foot long ship was discovered approximately 55 feet under the surface of the ocean, 64km from the state capital last week, while Bux was training some local marine fishermen about underwater diving.

Some of the fishermen alerted Bux as they saw water bubbles arising in the particular area.
"I immediately rushed to the area and when dived deep into the sea I found an unending length of matter... It took me more than 45 minutes to complete the recce of it. I brought it to the notice of the local administration. The vessel is more than 20 ft. high. A portion of it is lodged deep into the sand.
"Out of curiosity, I examined some parts of the wreck for 10 minutes. I did not find anything exciting there," Bux said.

The scuba diver said he is planning another trip to the wreck so he can explore new features about the ship and find out where it originated from but he believes that it could be up to 200 years old.
The new wreck diving site is likely to attract more tourists who are taking holidays for scuba diving which could bring a welcome boost in tourism to the area.

Puri Zila Parishad President Shankar Parida said: "The pictures and the video of the vessel shown by Bux clearly indicates that it belongs to an old era. We wish to know how a warship landed here. We invite the administration to dig more into this."
Shabir Bux originates from the Sundergarh district of Odisha and is an international scuba diver and certified underwater photographer and videographer. So far, the international diver has discovered nearly 58 shipwrecks in India and abroad during his scuba diving holidays.
Tourists planning scuba diving holidays could soon have a new site to explore as a scuba diver discovers the wreck of a 300-ft long ancient ship in the ocean at Chandrabhaga near Konark in India whilst teaching marine fishermen to dive.
