Cemetery Reef on the north end of Seven Mile Beach Seven Mile Beach and is a practical second dive following diving on the west wall You may also snorkel this dive site closer to shore. One can find a number of different fishes on the dive site including, Angelfishes, Doctorfish, Garden Eels, Blue Chromis, Spotted Drum and many more. The dive site has a assortment of coral fingers and sand flats to explore and a couple of nice Encrusting Octopus sponges.
Visibility on the dive site can be deminished some at this site because of the amount of sand and bio matter in the water Nevertheless, the dive site is interesting and when you take your time you will get a number of excellent underwater photos. You may come across Yellow Stingrays on this dive scuba diving site partially obscured in the sand. There is also a "lawn chair" sitting in the sand where you can have your photo taken reclining on the chair.
There have been several Nurse Sharks on the dive site but it is not common. The coral reef is in poor to moderate shape over a great deal of this site nevertheless you should still discover some very nice hard corals and soft corals. You can find a Green Morays or 2 secluded in the coral reef. Make sure you explore the under hangs and pockets in the coral. You may also come across Spiny Lobsters and additional crustaceans. At the scuba diving site there more than a few large areas of sand which can be found throughout this dive site and are excellent locations to search for various types of rays}. I have found a few juveniles on the site every so often.
Close-up wide angle along with macro photography are best to use on this site owing to the amount of sand and bio matter that are typically in the water. Cemetery Reef usually has excellent assortment of fish and other marine animals on the dive site and I have seen the hard to find Spotted Drum. This is usually a scuba diving site where you can dive as a buddy team otherwise you may follow the dive master on a guided tour. It can be a good change from one of the typical second scuba diving sites off Seven Mile Beach particularly if you haven't been to the site it is definitely worth at least one trip.
As in all dives I recommend going slowly and take the occasion to enjoy this site. Read other site evaluations on my blog and look at other underwater photos on my website and tag along with me on Twitter @ images2inspire.The pool is open...
