Game On! Winning Super Bowl Party Tips and Ideas

Whether you're a fan of the New England Patriots, the New York Giants or simply love watching commercials and the halftime show, the Super Bowl remains a timeless American tradition – and an excuse for a killer party. Food and drinks are usually the main attraction for a Super Bowl party, but these decorating ideas are sure to score big with football fans.

BEER-LOVING BOWL GAME

Think back to your college days, when getting together for a football game really meant getting together for much more exciting games such as beer pong and flippy cup. Take a page from the good old days and stock the fridge with a ton of cheap beer, and set up some fun drinking game stations. You could even make up your own games -- such as drinking every time a team scores a touchdown. Have plenty of Beer Goggles Pint Glasses, or Gel Freezer Beer Pilsners out on hand. Don't forget to collect everyone's keys when they arrive, and have a few sober drivers on hand to taxi guests home (your 16-year-olds and their friends will likely volunteer!).

Super Bowl Sunday is a major food fest.

Set up game-day spreads in gathering spots that won't block the television for avid fans, yet still encourage mingling and conversation.Set the table with a football field table cover or runner. Use a large platter serving tray for sandwiches. A coordinating  chip and dip set can set a festive mood to the main table spread while smaller football bowls and condiment servers are perfect for snack zones throughout the party. Have Drink Stations set up on strategic points around the field. Make use of Drink Dispensers or Beverage Servers with leak proof spouts that free you up from bar tendering duties.

Super Bowl Party Drinks

Really, you just can't go wrong at a Super Bowl® party with a bunch of beer. You may want to ask guests to bring their favorite six-pack so you can have a nice selection, although if you choose this option have at least a 12-pack to start things off.

Your guests will also appreciate a Bloody Mary Bar where each can create a drink to his or her own taste. Start with a standard Bloody Mary mix. Then guests can add in their own vodka, hot sauce and cracked pepper. For even more customization, mix chilled tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, celery salt and sea salt. Be creative with your garnishes. In addition to the standard celery stalks, put out bowls of blue-cheese-stuffed green olives, lemon wedges or wheels, cherry tomatoes, chili peppers and cocktail onions, and let guests skewer their own garnish. Have Menu and Message Tiles out to Label the Ingredients and to give participants an idea of recipes.
