Nevertheless, the developments are set to meet the deadline. A major phenomenon in this regard is that the money invested can literally be fetched back in little time. The booking for lodgings during the World Cup is already in full gear. A major phenomenon observed is that the slums of Brazil are also receiving applications for lodgings during the World Cup. And the more impressive factor is that even the obscure dwellings are garnering astronomical fees. This establishes the fact that football can play a decisive role in the micro-economic strata of any nation.

In the context of World Cup, it is important to note that many of the competing teams didn't have the smoothest of sailing going into the world cup qualifications. Some of the heavyweight teams even had a scare going into the final stages. Teams like Portugal which has the ballon d'or winning Christiano Ronaldo, too had a tough fight to reach the World Cup finals.
