It has probably happened to you too to feel disappointed of a soccer match, yet again, what were you expecting to see?  In my article I wish to talk about what people in general expect to see in a soccer match and what exactly disappoints them. So. What is the reason for soccer being the most beloved sport of them all?

Is it all about the favorite team?

Contrary to what you believe, sometimes even if your favorite team loses you don't feel disappointed, probably because they have tried their best. So things aren't necessarily about who you wish to win, but more about the show offered by the players. A match with a nil draw is quite boring while one with several goal opportunities in which the ball has actually found the back of the net becomes interesting. So the excitement, the wish to see goals scored and the players struggling on the pitch is what offers the excitement. People do have a favorite team, only natural, but as long as they try their best, even a lost match doesn't bring disappointment.

Is it all about the money?

This might be a touchy subject, but again one founded on misconceptions. Most people like watching a soccer match after a hard day's work because it is a captivating game for which no one can truly predict the score. There are some that even go so far as to see a soccer match from the arena, only to be closer to the action, to live alongside with the team. The vast majority enjoy watching a match and especially when their favorite team is playing because they feel more intensely the game.

The ones that enjoy soccer the most are probably those who play this game themselves, as a hobby so they understand better how it all goes down. Every week they are on the soccer pitch having fun and living the game. It is only natural for them to have high expectations from a national team, only because they know the rules and perks of the game themselves. Some of them play online soccer games, such as FIFA, just because they like it that much. They enjoy the show and thus want to see a quality game from the players they see on the pitch.

Nevertheless, soccer is great fun and it can reunite people and connect them through ideas an opinions. There is nothing more relaxing than chatting with friends over the last results of a certain team, regardless a negative or a positive one. There are numerous cases in which men gather in a local pub to see together a certain team and rejoice over the game and when their team loses, they debate over the scoring opportunities, judging and analyzing the entire match.

So, as a conclusion, soccer is always about the performance and show offered, for this most are willing to pay great sums only to be seated in the front row of the arena, to be closer to the action and support their favorite teams. In my opinion, soccer is a match that attracts many people through its unpredictability and to be honest, it is also quite interesting.
