The Name of Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox is a membership in the east American league of Major League Baseball team. The home is located in Massachusetts Boston's Fenway Park since 1912. The Boston Red Sox is one of the most popular team in American and the fans are spread all over the world. Different from other fans, the Red Sox are mostly like the male leading role in the movie "Fever Pitch", who is madly in love with and to support the Red Sox. These fans were all named as Fenway Faithfuls. Fenway Park is one of the oldest ballpark, in 1912 opening.

This Red Sox which is named for the team was in 1907, which was named by the owner of the team John Taylor after the season, a symbol of red pants. In fact, the first time to use the name is by the media, because at that time newspaper in order to avoid the title too long and so use Sox to replace the Stocking. After twists and turns, finally in 1908 the Red Sox logo appears on the uniform. This is the team first official nickname in history.  In 1901 the American league was born, and established a team in Boston. In the first seven seasons, this wore in dark blue stockings instead of official cheap authentic jerseys in the American league team has no formal nickname, just simply to be called "Boston team", "the American team" or "the Boston Americans team". During the years from 1901 to 1907, on the team shirt which worn no matter in the home or away, were simply sewn "Boston" six letters, but there is an exception is that in the playoff of 1902, on the jerseys, there are two capital letters "B" and "A", on the behalf of the Boston and the American people. At that time, the newspaper editor often used other nickname to address the team, including the "Somerset", "Plymouth Rock" "Collin sites" and the pilgrim. Whether "The pilgrim" ever appeared there is some controversial. For a long time many material ranked "the pilgrim" as early official nickname, but the research shows that the name of "The pilgrim" was rarely used, and even no used. The name appeared in 1907 at home in the opening of a track called "sing at the home of the pilgrims" poetry. At that time the team owner John Taylor said the name "sounds to like homeless wanderer". On the 1908 playoff season, the team added a big red stockings sign on positive of the cheap jerseys and announced that the team's official name is "the Red Sox". While the team's name often was abbreviated for "Bosox" or "BoSox", it is "the Boston" and "Sox" combination. Even so, most fans referred to as "Sox team".
