The Patchoge native who make a 2 medals, Matt Vogel helped the United States baseball's 16U National team beat Cuba, 9-0 and capture a gold medal at the 2011 IBAF World Youth Championship this weekend in Mexico at Lagos de Moreno.

Matt Vogel who was on the National Team in 2009. This would mark the 6th straight tittle for te 16U program. "That Experience i will never forget" said Vogel, who made 2 pitching appearences during the tournament on which the US Team went 7-1.

Vogel is headed to his Junior year at Patchoge-Medford High School, earned the victory against the chinese Taipei Team in Game # 2. He pitched 5 innings allowed no earned runs and strunck out 7. He went 2-for-3 with 2 singles, 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases.

"The 1st gold medal was awesome but this one means a lot more beacause we just won the World Baseball Championship" he said.
