Welcome to Drill of the Week, a series on ACTIVEkids.com that explains individual and team drills for parents and coaches to help kids improve at the sports they love.
This week's drill is Human Knot, a baseball drill brought to you by TheDrillbook.com.
"Human Knot", is a tangled mess that players need to creatively work to solve. Players are broken into 5 to 6 player units. Begin with all players in each group facing each other in a circle. Players randomly connect hands with a teammates' within their circle. This creates the "knot". The goal of the challenge is to have teams unwind their knots without letting go of anyone's hands. If they do break the hand grip the team must re-start. The untangled knot involves all players standing in the circle as they began. Play a few games and have the coaches create a team to challenge the players.
Team Work: Involves communication, patience and the sharing of ideas. Observe your players demonstrate their abilities.
