Tips To Improve Your Stance And Your Backswing So You Can Hit Your Clubs With More Consistency

We are coming into the Golf season. Take out your golf clubs, inspect them and clean them up so we can be ready for the upcoming day. Welcome to the Duffers Lounge, the place for all your golfing needs. You will find everything from golf tips, information, how to improve your swing, golf balls, golf accessories and anything else you need to help get you started and on your way to a great season toward improving your game.

Whether you are a beginner (someone who is just starting), a novice (someone who plays a couple times a year), an amateur, or someone who considers them self a good golfer, I will venture to say that there may be something you can learn that will always help you to play better golf.

To really become better at the game of golf, of course, it always pays to practice. I have had a lot of success improving my game by playing a good amount of 9-hole, Par 3 and Par 4 golf courses. I did this so I could work on my "short" game. I used only a few iron consisting of: an 8 iron, a pitching wedge and of course, a putter. You would be surprised at what just those three clubs will do for your concentration. Working on your short game will help you to improve so that you can cut down on the amount of strokes you need to get to the hole and, subsequently, in the hole. Become good with your irons and master your short game. You can usually play a 9-hole course twice for more practice, or to attempt to improve on your shots between your first go around and your second.

Another way to become better at golf is to play a round or two with people who may be a little better than you. Playing with someone better just may help you make some minor or major but necessary improvements in your game. The people you play with just may see something you could be doing wrong and perhaps offer a little advise on what you can do to change that will help you improve your game. Don't be afraid to ask for a little bit of help either. You just may be surprised how willing they are able to help you.

To be able to play the game of golf you should know what the game is about or at least willing to learn what the game is about, practice every chance you get and always learn from others.

Some Tips to Improve Your Golf Swing
Learning the golf swing takes time. Learning the perfect golf swing takes time and practice. The power it takes to get the ball flying does not come from the arms alone, it comes from the entire body. If you are used to using just your arms, then you might feel uncomfortable at first trying to use the rest of your body. Once you start swinging the club with your entire body though, you will see that you will be hitting the ball with more consistency and with more accuracy.

Many beginner golfers fail to make solid contact with the ball because of two main reasons. First, they turn their wrist during the back swing. Second, the forward swing of the club is too fast, thinking this is the only way to gain power. From time to time, even pro golfers lose the flex in their legs as they try for more distance.

Speed and hand positioning are key when swinging a golf club. When the golf swing, speed and hand position are done correctly, the ball will fly far and straight toward the hole. Done incorrectly and either the speed is too fast or your hands are in the wrong position could cause the ball to hook--or slice. Keep in mind that the correct up and down path of a golf swing is neither inside out or outside in. Nor is it in a straight path. The correct golf swing is from inside to inside. Once you get that concept, you will be able to have the ball fly into the air and, hopefully, land near the hole.

A good way for you to view and check your posture is in a full-length mirror and you practice your swings from time to time. Start with the setup position, hold it, then look in the mirror. Do the motion of the back swing, hold it, and again look in the mirror. Observe your posture. Of course, we all look good when we look at ourselves in the mirror...don't we?

If you discipline yourself into doing these things and improving your skills each time you would be amazed at how much success, not to mention all the fun, you will have in improving your game.
