Golf Tips - Practice Makes Perfect

2016/7/20 16:15:04

As with any other sports, in golf you need to make sure that you practice frequently in order to make sure you keep on top of your game. There are many aspects to golf, from long powerful shots for your driving ability to precision putts to finish the game and being proficient in all of these areas is important to ensure that you are a well rounded golfer and able to handle almost any shot type that comes your way whether it is approaching the green or recovering from a bad shot.

Driving is one of the easiest skills to improve as there are often areas dedicated to this at golf clubs called driving ranges. These ranges are a number of individual stalls where you can practice hitting long tee shots towards a field normally marked with distance markers to let you know how far you have managed to hit the ball.

There is usually a way to buy a bucket of golf balls from the club shops so you don’t have to waste your own which can be placed on the tee yourself or if the driving range is slightly more modern then you pour the balls into a hopper that automatically places a ball on the tee for you.

For putting there is normally a similar area set aside for practicing your putts with multiple holes so you can practice at different distances and angles. Putting is one of the skills you’ll need a good in-built measure for how strong to hit the ball and the way the ball rolls on the grass and on sloping surfaces. A lot of putting training aids like a self-returning putting toy can be great to get some practice in whether you’re at home or even in the office.

Chipping and pitching can be another aspect that needs great control and a judgement of how much power is needed. There are home training aids in the form of net targets for you to try and land your ball in to land a good chip shot. Learning how much power and the stance required to land a ball on to the green and to get it to stick to where it landed can take some time but practicing at home can help you develop the skills you’ll need on the golf course when you’re just out of putting distance or need to pop the ball over a bunker that’s in your way.

There are plenty of training aids available that can help you become a better all rounder golfer, you may hear some players being referred to as having a great long or short game, but with these tips and aids you may well be able to be great at both!
