Junior Golfers Can Learn A Lot From Rory Mcilroy: 2 Golf Tips

Junior golfers lessons from the new world #1
Rory McIlroy played an amazing round on Sunday at the Honda Classic to seal his escalation to the top of the world ranking fending of charges from some great players, namely Lee Westwood who tore it up for a 63 to remind everyone he is hunting the throne himself and Tiger Woods, who finally got the putter to match his long game and carded a great 62 on the final day.
So what can all junior golfers and anyone wanting to improve their golf game learn from Rory McIlroy as well as Tiger Woods especially from their final rounds? Tiger the past couple of weeks has struggled with holing out and making clutch putts, so his scores despite his solid play have not been great. However in the final round of the Honda Classic he made those putts, and plenty of them to post his lowest round yet!
Rory of course played consistent all week, managed well around the course and on the final day made ALL of his putts within 10 feet!
In addition, the physical and mental demands of performing at such a high level for an entire PGA event are huge. The importance of being in top physical shape is a non-negotiable deal if you want to play your best golf.
So what are the two takeaway golf tips?
Junior Golfers Tip #1- Make your opponents hate you
What on earth do I mean?
If I am honest, putting was never my strongest point, I have gotten a lot better over the years, but I put it down to the fact that I started playing late on compared to others in the junior golf tournaments I played in, plus when I began as junior, I just was not interested in putting. I came from a tennis background so golf appealed to me for the athletic side of it, creating a powerful golf
swing. I soon realized that putting was vital to my scores so I began working hard on it, but I was never a natural, I have always been renowned for my golf swing, my distance and striking ability, but not my putting.
I did however play against junior golfers who were amazing on the greens, and the annoyance of what I would affectionately label hackers that would scramble around from tee to green or near by, then get up and down or sink way many more puts than me. I was not the only one, other junior golfers got frustrated with the short, not good striker players. So if you want to frustrate your opponents become a great putter, study practice and love it because;
Holing out it what makes champions
"Drive for show and Putt for dough"
I am well aware you most likely have heard of this saying before and I am going to be a little controversial here and say that you can only putt for that dough consistently for pars or birdies if you are placing long straight tee shots on the fairways following it with crisp distance controlled iron shots.
This is how PGA pros like McIlroy can score such low rounds consistently. A powerful long game and a deadly touch on the greens will make you into one heck of a golfer, but without those putts dropping, especially holing out within 10 feet.
Junior Golfers Tip # 2 - Be as strong as a shark
Greg Norman (The Shark) has always promoted and be renowned for his physical fitness in golf and at age 57, he still does two hours in the gym up to five days each week and he believes: "Looking after your body is as important as looking after your golf swing."
Like Tiger, and many top young golf players, McIlroy is following Junior Golfers and weight-lifting golf exercises, yet Norman believes the Rory and former women's world No 1 Wozniacki can benefit from their current relationship in many other ways.
They can support each other, keep each other motivated, train together and keep focussed."Aussie golf legend Greg Norman believes Rory can rely on girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki to drive him to the top of the world.
The Danish tennis star is probably the best partner Rory can have because she is physically strong, she has to be that way for her sport. For the two of them to be respectively going through their careers at this young age is ideal," said Norman.
So how does this apply to you?
Consistently work of your physical fitness, do golf exercises and have have the right support around you from friends or Junior Golfers.
Hang out with other athletes more not just junior golfers, too many players do not see the principle that if you are a golfer you are an athlete, so spend time with people that do.There you have your junior golfers tips for today;

Be the best athlete you can be.
