Simple Tricks For Improving Your Golf Game

Consider buying golf shoes that are a little bit bigger than necessary in order to account for swelling that often occurs after spending four or five hours walking outside during a round. Golf shoes that feel just right when you try them on will likely be too tight after 18 holes.

Doing so enables you to determine your proper and most successful stance. Your stance is important, but since everyone is unique, it is impossible to to determine the proper stance without experimentation. Once you find the right stance, you will immediately notice the benefit in your swing.

Always pay attention to having a good stance. You can find out if you have a good stance with a simple test: try tapping your toes while avoiding moving your feet. If you are standing correctly, then it should not be a problem tapping your toes. Wiggling your toes is hard if you're leaning too much towards the ball and excessively easy if you're leaning back too much.

Play miniature golf to help you with your golf game. By practicing on the putting obstacles, your short game is tremendously improved. Having to putt over two hills and through a windmill is a bit whimsical no doubt, but it can translate well to putting success on a real green.

Make sure you don't discourage yourself by golfing with people on a higher level than you. While you are a beginner, find easier courses to play on with people of a similar skill level. Playing on difficult courses against elite players will crush your spirit and enthusiasm.

A common golf mistake is slicing. This mistake can be remedied with some practice. This is when the club hits the ball the wrong way, sending the ball off to the right. Keep your shoulders, hips and knees parallel to your target line. Use your hands and arms on the downswing, as opposed to using your body and shoulders.

Try to golf with better players and take note of what they do. There are various ways to benefit from a pro golfer. You don't even have to play with the person you're shadowing to learn from him. Sometimes, just spending time with him helps your game. Watch carefully while experienced players take their shots. You may learn new techniques via observation. In addition, you may feel inspired to play your best game when you spend time around strong players.

Stand between 3 to 5 feet behind your ball and keep your eyes focused on where you want the ball to go. Take the wind, other weather conditions and your environment into consideration. Thinking briefly before taking your swing will help you hit the ball in the right direction. Once you have all these factors determined and pieced together, you can address the ball confidently, knowing you have the destination in mind.

Golf has endless physical and mental benefits, and it is a simple sport to learn. Now that you've read the above tips, you shouldn't have any problem playing your first round of golf, so why not do it today?
