Don't use a golf cart to go from one hole to another. Walk instead. You will get more exercise, which in turn is great for your health! By walking, you'll also keep your body limber and your muscles warmed up.

Be sure that all of your attention is dedicated towards your next shot. Don't dwell on a bad play at the previous hole, or worry about what's up ahead, but concentrate on the task at hand. Anxiety about earlier poor plays can really have an effect on your game, so do your best to push them from your mind completely, rather than dwelling on them.

Learning to keep score is a very useful skill as it pertains to golf. Because golf scores are often used as a way of judging a player's skill level, it's important to understand them. You keep track of every time the club strikes the ball, the total being your score for that hole. Your goal is to land the ball with the least amount of strokes possible.

Make sure your left hand is actually ahead of your ball when you putt. Putt the ball, keeping your hands steadily in this position as you follow through. You will then be able to hold the position of your golf club and stop the ball from going off the front of the club.

Learning to keep score is a very useful skill as it pertains to golf. This is because your player ranking is based on your score. When keeping score, every time you attempt to hit the ball is counted as a stroke. Your score at each hole is calculated as the number of strokes it takes for you to get your ball to the hole. The intent is to do so in as little a number of strokes as you can!

Don't take golf too seriously. Try to remember that it's just a game. You're going to make mistakes, and having the ability to laugh them off not only helps you reset mentally for your next shot, it means you can relax more.

For every shot you take, keep the exact same ball position. Using the same position may make it easier for you to shoot consistently. When you need a bit more loft from your clubs, lead with your trailing foot while maintaining your ball's position. This approach will help you choose the best club for the particular situation.

The best way to improve your overall golf game is to improve your stance. Your posture plays a big role in determining how far you can drive. If your body is in poor position chances are the golf ball will not travel very far.

There are many reasons why golf has maintained its appeal for decades. Practice everything you've learned here, so that you can amaze your golfing partners with your new skill level.
