How do you get hunter safety course in Tennessee?

Option 1: Tennessee Hunter Education Field Course

1. Sign Up: Visit the TWRA website and create an account.

2. Find Location: Choose a field course location and date that fits your schedule. Field courses are typically offered over a weekend or weekdays.

3. Register and Attend: Register for the course and complete the in-person field portion.

4. Test: Take and pass the hunter education examination.

Option 2: Tennessee Online Hunter Education Course

1. Register: Create or log in to your account on the Hunter Ed website and select Tennessee.

2. Pay Fee: Pay the required fee for the online course.

3. Study and Quiz: Study the course material, including chapters on firearm safety, hunting laws and regulations, and survival skills. Complete the quizzes to reinforce learning.

4. Field Day: After passing the online portion, sign up for and complete a field day (usually half-day). It involves live-fire exercises and hands-on field scenarios.

5. Test: Pass the hunter education exam at the end of the field day.
