Place the gutter machine on a level surface ensuring the base is stable.
Lift one side of the gutter and place the open side of the gutter mouth over the cutter blade while supporting the other end of the gutter. Push the gutter into the machine until it is secured in the cutter. Push hard to make sure the gutter end makes contact with the stops on the back end of the machine.
STEP 2: MEASURE AND MARK CUTTING LINE
Lay out the desired angle to cut with the protractor and pencil. The cutter is pre-set for the most popular angles in gutter applications like 90°, 67.5°, 45°, and 22.5°.
Align the protractor arm parallel to the edge of the gutter.
Then, hold the other arm to the mark and lock the arm in place
STEP 3: CUTTING
Pull down the lever to engage the cutter blade and let go. The blade with swing down and make the cut across the gutter. Use the miter box and handsaw to cut your angles.
Cut the bottom of the gutter on the bottom cutter blade.
Flip over the gutter, realign it over the blade and cut the other side of the gutter.
STEP 4: REMOVE CUTTER
Remove the cut piece of the gutter from the cutter
* NOTE: If the
gutter you are cutting is oversized or needs to be offset due to it being too close to the fascia, you can place a 2x4 under the gutter prior to cutting to create the needed additional clearance.
