2. Remove the spool cover. This is usually located on the bottom of the trimmer. You may need to use a screwdriver to remove it.

3. Remove the old string from the spool. Discard the old string.

4. Wind the new string around the spool. Start by wrapping the string around the center post of the spool. Then, continue winding the string around the spool in a clockwise direction. Be sure to keep the string tight as you wind it.

5. Insert the spool back into the trimmer. Align the spool with the posts on the trimmer head. Then, press down on the spool until it clicks into place.

6. Replace the spool cover.

7. Reconnect the trimmer to the power source and turn it on.

8. Test the trimmer to make sure the string is working properly.
