- A Phillips head screwdriver

1. Unload the rifle and make sure the chamber is empty.
2. Remove the lever from the rifle by unscrewing the screw that holds it in place.
3. Set the hammer to the half-cock position.
4. Remove the takedown screw from the back of the receiver and set aside along with the magazine tube and spring and the lever spring.
5. Open the action and push the bolt forward out of the reciever.
6. Use a punch to drive out the pins holding the trigger assembly and remove it.
7. Remove the firing pin and spring.
8. Use the flathead screwdriver to pry out the extractor.
9. Remove the barrel band and forend.
10. Remove the action from the stock by unscrewing the stock screw.
11. Clean all of the parts and reassemble the rifle in the reverse order of disassembly.
