How old do you have to be drive in the state of Florida?

In the state of Florida, you must be at least 16 years old to get a learner's permit. You can apply for a learner's permit up to 120 days before your 16th birthday. To obtain a learner's permit, you must pass a written knowledge test and a vision test. You must also provide proof of identity, residency, and a Social Security number. Once you have your learner's permit, you must practice driving for at least 50 hours, including 10 hours of nighttime driving, before you can take the road test for your driver's license. You must be at least 17 years old to take the road test. If you pass the road test, you will be issued a driver's license.
