Woods Confident Of Chances At US Open
Despite the marital woes he is facing and his continued setbacks in his return to active play in professional golf, American golfing superstar Tiger Woods is still very much confident of his chances in the upcoming US Open at Pebble Beach, California. Woods hopes to win the PGA sanctioned golf tournament to solidify his status as the premier professional golfer in the planet today. The American golfing superstar participated in the recent PGA sanctioned tournaments, but the results were not favorable to him. He revealed that he is practicing intensely for the tournament and is confident that he can have a decent finish this year.
Woods earlier retired from the game temporarily due to an injury and to fix his marriage due to his extra-marital affairs which he admitted publicly. Since his return from active play, luck had not been on the side of Woods due to his lackluster performances. But in the upcoming US Open, Woods is oozing with confident that his fortune will turn around and he can finally nail a PGA sanctioned tournament this year. The road towards victory in the US Open is, however, very tough for Woods, since other top guns of professional golf will also be participating in the tournament.
American golf superstar Phil Mickelson, one of Woods main rivals has also expressed confidence that he will win the tournament this year. Mickelson who is on a winning streak this year in PGA sanctioned tournaments said he had practiced hard for the event and is hopeful it would result in victory for him. Rory McIlroy, who at 21 is ranked 10th in the world, is also hopeful he will win the tournament and further improve his standing in professional golf.
