Myrtle Beach Golf Course Recommendations

Many beautiful golf courses reside in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The area is known for its never ending rolling greens and beach golf courses. The "Golf Digest" describes 60 courses in the Myrtle Beach area alone, and those are just the "top" courses according to them. This just goes to show the abundant number of golf courses in the area. So how is one supposed to weed through all the courses and find the ones that interest them the most?

Here are some golf course recommendations that are located in Myrtle Beach…

The Carolina National is a 27 hole course that was designed by Freddie Couples. It has been given a 4.5 star rating. Players of all skills levels enjoy this course design. This spot is also a certified Audubon Sanctuary.

The Seal Trail Jones Course is covered with big luscious trees and widespread fairways. Brought to us by Reese Jones, this Sea Trail course is filled with amenities like a driving range, sand and chipping area, and putting green. There is also a full service restaurant on campus!

If you are looking for a fun course, then check out the Sea Trail Byrd Course. This is a Willard Byrd course and was awarded with 4 stars. The course has Bermuda type greens, multiple water holes, and a full service restaurant.

A nice unique course is the Witch Golf Links. There are 4,000 feet of bridges throughout the course that lead you to different greens and tees. The area is "swamped" with wetlands and makes for a tricky, yet exciting game. The nature surrounds you as you play through this must see course designed by Dan Maples.

Another must go to place in Myrtle Beach is the Wizard Golf Course. Sitting on the property is not only a 100 acre lake, grassy greens, multiple fairways, and 800 different planned and grass species, but sitting on the Wizard Golf Course is an old castle! The castle is used as the clubhouse and by no surprise, this is also a Dan Maples design.

Wicked Stick is actually located just south of Myrtle Beach, but is always a popular visit. This course has been highlighted many in popular reads like Golfweek and USA Today. Scottish style links stand out throughout the playing fields. This versatile course was a design collaboration from Clyde Johnston’s and John Daly’s ideas and is recognized as Daly’s "first ever signature course".
