Slicing a golf ball can be very infurating and can have a very negative effect on your game. During address is the main place where a slice normally occurs. But don't be fooled, there are lots of other actions that can cause a slice to occur.

A square stance is making sure your feet, hips are shoulders are all in line, and this is what most golfers do. Making sure your left foot is directly under your left shoulder is very important unless you want your ball to fly to the right.

The next thing you want to do is to make sure your grip is correct. A lot of new players tend to hold the club a little too tightly, and this can cause the club head to open on impact. A neutral grip is imperative to stop that ball from flying off to the right, resulting in a hook or a slice.

Look down at your hands while holding the club - this is by far the easiest way to see if you are holding your club correctly. If you can see two or three knuckles on your left hand when you look down, then this is correct. You will have an incorrect grip if you can't see any of your knuckles at all.

To correct your grip, just rotate your hands while holding the club until you can see some knuckles. But to be sure to practice with this new grip quite a few times. Making small changes to your grip can really go a long way.

But there are more than one tip on how to correct a golf slice. Swing tempo is very important. A lot of golfers think that all their power comes from their arms so they try to use this to get some extra distance, but most of the time, this never works. They let their hands take control when they reach the top of their backswing and lead the downswing. By doing this, the clubface will always certainly open.

Your swing needs to be relaxed and smooth from start to finish. When you reach the top of your backswing, try to avoid tugging at the club. If your hips don't start the downswing, the rest of the rotation won't work as smoothly as it should.

Don't forget to take a look at your divot when it comes to correcting your golf slice. If your divot is pointing a little too far to the right, you are going to have a few problems. So to avoid this from happening, always make sure your stance is square.

Patience and time are required to fix these problems, they won't happen overnight. But working through the causes will help you to eventually find the answers and you will be able to play with ease.
