For years, engineers at Taylormade have been able create the
best golf gear year in and year out. This year is more of the same with the
Taylormade's new R11 driver. It has literally revolutionized the golf driver industry
and has provided all competitors with something to strive for. This new driver
is making its mark at every level of the game from the average weekend player
to PGA professionals such as Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose. This is one of the
first fully customizable drivers with multiple technological advances that a
player can change to their specifications. These fully custom features along
with the Taylormade name make up for arguably the best driver to ever touch the
tee box.?br />
The thing that so many pros and average golfers alike love about the Taylormade
driver is the fully customizable features of the club. There are three things
that each golfer can change on the club head itself and like always, Taylormade
offers these drivers with choice of shaft flex to make it the most personal
driver ever. On the end of the shaft where the shaft meets the club head is
Taylormade's flight control technology. The driver comes in either 10.5 or
9-degree loft but with flight control technology, the player has the ability to
change the loft 1 full degree down or up from its stock setting. Therefore
virtually all loft angles are possible with this new driver. Another piece of
technology included in this new driver is the adjustable sole plate technology.
This feature gives the golfer the ability to change the angle of the clubface
from open, neutral or closed. The open and closed positions can move out two
degrees from the neutral setting. This is an advantage because it gives the
player the ability to tune the face angle without changing the loft.
Taylormade's engineers also put moveable weight technology into the driver.
There is one 10-gram weight and a 1-gram weight that can be put into two
positions to promote a drive that draws or a neutral drive. Putting the 10-gram
in the heel and the 1-gram weight in the toe will give the golfer a draw off
the tee. And reversing the weights will give the golfer a neutral and straight
drive.?br />
There are also a few new design features on the R11 that make it an incredible
driver. The shape of the club head is now in a more arrow shape, which provides
less drag and faster head speed. Also, the driver head is now painted in white.
This white paint reduces glare and looks bigger than a normal dark colour
driver giving the golfer extreme confidence and the feeling to swing free off
of every tee.?br />
Taylormade has done it again with the new R11 driver. Golf Digest rated this
driver as the editor's choice for drivers. The R11 comes in its standard form
and a TP version. The TP version's only difference is the head cover and the
shaft options are different. Otherwise they are the exact same. Packing 460cc
and coming in both right and left handed versions, Taylormade is making more
noise in the golf community by evolving the driver once again and it will be
hard for them to go up from here.
