The Dreaded Hook And Slice - Its The Difference

Even up to today, my rounds of golf are affected by, what i think, are the 2 shots that can completly ruin a round of golf. The hook and the slice. My handicap is average being only 12 but so many times i have looked to be playing a round of golf then, as i watch my tee shot slice out of bounds, i know that the rest of your round could be a struggle. 

I remember one particular time i was hitting the ball very well and everything was just working. I was 1 under through 12 holes and i was cruising. Remember, I am off 12!!! I confidently stroll to the 13th tee. And what happens, i slice it OB. I end up with a triple bogey and coming off that green, i was 2 over which was still way under my handicap but it just blew my confidence right away. I finished the round at 11 over. So through 12 holes i hit 2 under, then my last 6 holes i shot 13 over. Quiet a turn around and all of which came from one stray tee shot.

I think its the difference between an amatuer and a pro. You dont see many stray shots from the pros when they are playing. And when they do hit an awful slice or hook, it doesnt affect their game because they know how to fix that little kink. Now if only i knew how to fix my problems on the golf course.

This is where lessons or swing guides come in handy i guess, which is something i have never used. They are just such an ugly shot. Just watching the ball sail far right or far left can frustrate any golfer. The types of clubs can affect this too, like the size of the drivers head and of course alot of other factors but its always your swing that has affected this. I always find myself, after hitting a slice or a hook, going back and taking alot of practice swings to try and get why it happend. But i never figure it out unfortunatley.

Well i think i have outlined my thoughts on how the 2 ugliest shots in the game of golf, in my eyes the hook and slice, can completely turn around a game of golf. Those shots can just drain your confidence and make you shoot a very high number. Golfing swing guides can help cure these problems. These are the reasons why the pros are so far ahead and far better than amatuers in the way they compose themselves and know what to do when their game loses a bit of control.
