Poor Tiger Woods. He is always in the news, whether it be for the right , or on this occassion, the very odd wrong reason. During the final round of the frys open, the golfing legend had a hotdog thrown at him by a drunkin spectator. But at least he didnt let the little event affect his golf game.
As Tiger was preparing for a birdie putt on the seventh hole on the Cordeville course, one very loud spectator ran towards him shouting "Tiger, Tiger", then launched the dog at him. The bun didnt get very far, with the sausage landing on the green. Tiger missed the putt making a par, but didnt seem phased by the unexpected fan. The man was arrested after being tackled to the ground. Funny scenes really.
Well at least things are looking up for the former world number one. He finished the tournament at 7 under par and a tie for 30th, and from what I watched on foxtel, showed some great signs that his best might not be far away. It was his first tournament in 2 months and a tie for 30th may not be all that much to write home about, but considering his form lately i reckon next year he will be back to his majestic best.
Tiger Woods is such an legend of the game, and to have a fan show that kind of respect just shows how the great mans image has fallen so dramatically in the last 2 years or so. I personally still admire the guy and think that the public should forgive him and let the past be the past, but oviously there are some out there who have lost a little respect for the man.
Just like the sports bar in Augusta who, earlier in the year, started selling a hotdog named 'Tiger Homewrecker' which came with a 12 inch weiner. No respect at all i think, especially for what he has done for the game in the last 13 years. His golf swing will forever be admired by millions, and with all the records he has broken he has earnt alot more respect than he has gotten.
Well as long as the are no more hotdog incidents around the corner, and the media gives the great man a break, Tiger Woods will be number one again very soon in my opinion. And to the spectator who flung that hotdog at him, well good on ya for being so ballsy, but you are a bit of a tosser in my eyes.
