The Average Golfer

Average Golfers are basically people that are not experts and are probably weekend golfers. He or she may never make the PGA or LPGA tour or win thousands of dollars playing golf. But one thing the average golfer is going to do is play some golf! Most average golfers are golf addicts and really love to play the game of golf.

Ok so we are not pros. We make some really great shots and some really bad shots. We get frustrated quite a bit but we always seem to make a good shot on that 18th hole to keep us coming back.

Most average golfers have an average golf budget. Golf can be very expensive so we have to watch how we spend our money when it comes to golf. The pros are sponsored by major companies. The average golfer sponsors himself. When it comes to buying clubs, name brand clubs are very expensive. I must say that they are normally very quality clubs, very well made and can last a long time.

So, why not purchase a set of pre-owned clubs. Ok, some people just say used clubs. Taylormade has a pre-owned website. You can also find some good deals on Ebay and Amazon. Play It Again Sports always has a nice sized selection of quality used clubs and they are affordably priced. Personally, I'd take a set of pre-owned Taylormades over a brand new set of off brands from Wal-mart any time.

Now when it comes to buying golf wear, we want to look as nice as the pros but we just don't want to pay that much. Ross, TJ Max, and Marshalls always have quality name brand Dri-Fit shirts by Nike, Adidas, Puma, Ping and more. Most of the time they are priced 30 to 40% off the regular price! And once again you can go online and also find some really good deals.

The big box discount stores like Wal-mart usually has great deals on golf tees, golf balls, hats, towels and more. If you're a beginner and Wal-mart has a set of clubs on sale for $99, go ahead and get them. But beginners haven't made it to the upper ranks of the average golfer. Every now and then Dick's, Sports Authority and the other sports store may have a good sale every once and a while.

You see the average golfer does not want to look shabby on the golf course. He or she may not have paid a lot but between the clubs and the golf wear, he or she may look like one of the pros! Looking the part may just lead to us having a little swagger which may lead to us playing a really good round of golf. Hey, there's nothing like playing a really good round of golf with your golf buddies!

Who would have thought being average could be so much fun?
