Ok it has been coming for some time now and I think it has arrived, no more golf. I know how can I say that, it makes no sense, no more golf, and what does that mean. It means what you would think a statement like that would mean, no more golf for me, at least for a while.
There it is for a while not forever say it is not so, not sure, I would hate to say forever, just economically speaking I have some money involved in my clubs and accessories, as we all do. Not to mention I was just starting to hit that damn ball occasionally straight and down the fairway. Putting I was getting better faster than I thought I would.
The weather was just saying go out and get some practice in, take that Bushnell golf rangefinder I have and see what happens after the winter layup. Sounded like a great idea, any one would have thought the same thing. They did the range was very crowded, got lucky though did not wait long, told a few lies and went out and did my best.
Well my best must have been somewhere else, because my first shot near fell me to the ground in pain. I thought my shoulder went across the field not the ball. I have been having some problems with my shoulder the last many years.
While golfing they usually felt ok, a little sore but ok, even at practice they were not too bad. I have noticed though the last few years, really the last year or so they have been getting much worse.
It is winter here, as warm as it was, so golfing really takes a back seat for me and I enjoy other activities. Other things, not sport related, or is watching television and beer a sport, maybe it should be, I have a chance at number one in that.
Any way I have not been doing much of anything this winter even shoveling snow has been less this year as there was very little snow. My shoulders felt ok before I left, I was going to hit a bucket of balls enjoy the nice weather and get some much needed practice. Sounds like a great afternoon, why not any would think this is a great couple of hours.
Well after everyone asked if I was ok, I got up put my club away with my pride. I felt like an idiot, I don’t know why I tried to hit the damn ball ten miles. I guess I should have taken it easier, after I was embarrassed and the other folks went back to hitting their balls.
I made the fastest exit I could, considering the circumstances, my shoulder was killing me, I had all my clubs with me, do not know why. I gave the rest or the whole bucket to the guy next to me picked up my shoulder and left.
I got home my next door neighbor was out I asked if he could help get my clubs to the garage, he just takes them out and before I could stop him my rangefinder hits the pavement, grab that piece will you, what a day, why do I like golf…
Watch it your first day out, or your first time this year. I really think I have ruined my golfing fun, as pain will never be fun. This still hurts, perhaps I can just putt and I get the wife to hit the damn balls, like that is going to happen…Ouch… what did I do….
