Golf is an enjoyable sport. There aren't to many bad things that can be said about it. Most bad things that can be said about it are directly linked the person doing the golfing. Like most people I have a love/hate relationship with golf. I love everything about golf but the bad shots and the high scores that go along with them. There are a few things to work on that will help to lower your golf score. By doing this a round will be much more enjoyable.
Lets start with the stance. The most important thing to remember about your stance is stay relaxed. If your muscles are tense it will restrict your back swing, down swing and follow through and result in bad things that I'm not going to mention! Second, make sure you are in a balanced stance. You do not want to be leaning to much in any one direction. You shouldn't be able to pick up one foot or the other because there is no weight on it or move your club and fall flat on your face.
Now the grip. There is really not a whole lot with this. You want to make sure the you have descent grips on you clubs first off. A club flying out of your hands during a shot will not be a good thing. There are some different grips that you can do which I am not going to get into. Any grip will do fine it is all about what you are comfortable with. Again, make sure you are relaxed. The object of a good grip is not to choke the life out of the club.
Your back swing is next and I'm going to stick with a theme, Stay Relaxed. You want to keep a rhythm to it. A back swing is similar to stretchhing out a rubber-band. When you let go of one end it flings toward the other end. In the same way your backswing is gaining momentum for the follow through. Again take your time and you will be fine.
The down swing should just feel natural . You want to try to follow the same plane as your backswing. At some point your belly should start to turn to the target and your body should also start moving towards the target. Keep calm and do not try to kill the ball and you will see better shots and lower golf scores.
The follow through is just a result of every part of the golf swing that has happened up to this point. Your head will have turned to the target but try to keep it at the same level as it was in the beginning of your swing. Your back leg, leg further away from the whole, will have pivoted and the knee should be pointing at the target. The end result should be you, from the waste up, facing the target and most of your weight on the front leg.
Bottom line, a lower golf score is possible. Golf shots might seem complex but breaking it down into different parts makes it easier. It might take a few adjustments but learning proper golf swing is possible.
