Tips For Buying A Golf Cart
If you have been thinking about buying a golf cart, there are a few things you need to consider. Since a golf cart can be a fairly expensive item of purchase, here is a list of practical questions you should ask yourself before you buy.
1 - What is the primary purpose of the golf cart?
Golf carts come in all sizes, shapes and styles. They also come in both electric and gas powered models depending upon what they are needed for. If you are purchasing a golf cart for golfing, of course an electric model will be fine. However, if you intend to use the cart for working purposes, or to travel on rough terrain, a gas powered model would be needed.
2 - What is your budget?
The next thing you need to consider is how much you are willing to spend on the cart. Golf carts vary in price depending upon whether they are electric or gas and according to brand, type and extras. Gas powered models obviously cost more than electric ones. But both gas and electric prices can add up with all the extras you can have on them. So, decide on the amount you are willing to spend and then look for carts in that price range.
3 - New or Used?
Unless you are determined to have a new cart, you can save a lot of money by purchasing a used cart. Many places today sell used golf carts, both electric and gas. You can purchase a used electric cart for about $2000 whereas a new one stars at around $4000. The price increases with extras added. With a used gas cart, the price would generally start around $3000 - $5000 with new ones starting at $6000 -$7000.
Once you have determined the answers to these questions, look around. Do your homework. Look for a reputable company that you can trust and rely on to give you the best deal and service for your money.
