Tips To Better Your Golf Swing
A lot of golf players believe that to make more power, you must over swing. The idea is the more size of the swing, the more power it generates. This is not correct. The truth is you can obtain a lot more power only once you swing in the confines of your feet. The basic rules to remember are:
1. During the backswing, avoid placing your weight outside your right foot.
2. Once you make contact with the golf ball, stay away from placing your weight outside your left foot.
So, how you must place your knees, ankles and feet through a golf swing?
Commence with your weight distributed evenly on the balls of your feet. On the backswing, as you shift the weight inside your right foot, roll the left foot in. The left knee should turn in naturally, but the right one should remain fairly still.
As you come into the ball, your right knee needs to turn and your weight has to move off the golf ball of your right foot onto your left. In the meantime, the right knee should head straight towards the hole. After impact, the weight should keep moving until it's focused on the outside of your left foot. In the end, your weight will be far off to the left and your right heel will come off the ground.
An additional effective training methdo that will help you develop a more effective swing is "One-Handed Swing". Here is how to do it:
1. Grip your wedge or 9-iron and stand over the ball normally.
2. Since this is a one-handed swing, so release the club from your dominant hand. Keep it at your side.
3. Take one armed chip shots. These tiny chip shots can definitely assist you with developing a better feel regarding getting the club head on the ball. Beside that, it will let you see how the ball moves when in comes off the club face.
4. Continue the drill and work your way up to taking three-quarter swing pitch shots, still using your non-dominant hand.
If you keep practicing, you will find your confidence is improving. When you go back to making normal golf swing, they will be much easier, seem stronger and the ball will fly farther!
