Its Called Putt-Putt, Not Put Put
Putt-Putt in America is dying. Does anyone care that there aren't as many miniature golf courses around anymore? Maybe it is the times but there used to be lots more in every town. Search engine research shows that more people search for 'put put' than putt-putt now on the internet. When did it become put put?
Since Putt-Putt is a trademarked name by an American company maybe that is why more people think it is called 'put put'. Everyone used to know Putt-Putt as a great fun amuzement center with moving windmills, large animals and more things to do in one place than Disney. It seems now all you see are overpriced boring courses that might have a few hills or sharp turns to get the ball in the hole.
The best dates growing up used to be at the local putt-putt course(not put put). We would even have to wait at each hole for two or three groups because it was so crowded. It was also normal to stay after the round and eat ice-cream, play video games and just hang out. Now all kids do are go to the mall and text each other across the table.
Since 'Putt-Putt' was worth paying money to trademark maybe companies should take another look at what people want. Miniature golf courses should all look like the one in Karate Kid: go-karts, drive-in, arcade, movie theater, rides, batting cages, and yes Putt-Putt(not put put). Maybe that would get everyone to stop calling it 'put put'.
Calling it Put put? It shows that the times have changed and no one cares about Putt-Putt anymore. We all want to see dates holding hands between holes and families jumping up and down at the local Putt-Putt course. Maybe they will make it a weekly routine to play a round and get ice-cream or play in the arcade when they are done too. Quit calling it 'Put Put'.
