In the rain, that means you're going to have to put on some golf rain paints. If you didn't know, golf rain pants are designed specifically to do two things: (1) let you play golf; and (2) keep you dry. Hence the name. And it's a good thing they exist too, because I've played golf in some torrential downpours (and, believe it or not, it was actually pretty fun).
Now, you don't know me very well at all. Only about two paragraphs worth, but I'm going to tell you something about myself that not very many people know. I love plaid golf pants. I think they are the coolest thing out there since sliced bread. I love looking good, and a little bit out there on the golf course, and plaid golf pants allow me to do exactly that.
But I want to take it a step further than that. I've always wanted a pair of mens golf rain pants that were plaid. Yep, I said it. Because I mean, think about it. If you are out there on the course and it's raining, then everyone takes out their black or navy blue rain pants and puts them on. But you never ever see someone take out a set of waterproof mens plaid golf pants and throw them on. That would be quite a sight.
In all my looking, though, I've never seen a pair of rain pants like that, and honestly, I probably never will. As much as I'd like to wear them, I don't get the feeling that anyone else would, which means I lose out, unless I can find a way to design them.
To answer the title of this article, though, I think it's perfectly okay to wear plaid golf rain pants. In fact, I'd promote it, if I knew where any existed. The whole point of golf and playing golf is to have fun while you're shooting low scores. Don't forget about that. And don't forget to get out there and play in the rain a little. It's good for the soul.
