Created out of three nine-hole courses, San Diego Riverwalk Golf Course abounds with water. Earlier in its history, this southern California public golf course was known by several different names. In the 1960s the course was known as the Mission Valley Country Club, and later was called the Stardust Country Club before achieving its current name. In years past, San Diego Riverwalk Golf Course has been the host for the Farmers Insurance Open, which is part of the PGA Tour, although it was formerly known as the San Diego Open. From the 1960s until the 1980s, celebrity Andy Williams hosted this popular event.
