Elin earns $300m payoff

Since news of Woods's string of extra-marital affairs broke late last year, the world number one has been at the centre of a media storm that has seen as many as 18 women claiming to have had relationships with him. 

It's the same thing with this weekend's big rumour that claims his cheated wife Elin has boasted to friends that she has agreed to a $300m (?185m) divorce settlement. Indeed she was reported by The News of The World on Sunday to have laughingly referred to the settlement as a "$300 million Christmas present" from her seemingly, soon-to-be ex-husband. 

Every day brings a new twist to the Tiger Woods tale, but the man in the spotlight is never available to confirm or deny the latest rumours. Without naming names or numbers, Woods has admitted infidelity and rumours of a possible divorce have been rife ever since, with the News of the World's source now claiming that Elin Woods is determined to split up with her husband for good. 

"She's more focused than ever about moving on with her life," the source was quoted as saying.

The source also added that Elin has begged the world number one to seek professional help over his fragile mental state, and refused to let him see his children over Christmas as he was "not stable enough". 

Further reports claim Tiger has also reportedly stopped communicating with several of his closest aides, and is apparently now considering extending his break from the game until 2012.
