Among the giants of the golf industry, PING has always remained one of the quietest in the business. You never see commercials on TV. They only have a select number of pros which they endorse. They rarely even release new clubs and you are surely very familiar with the Ping G10 driver remain on the golf wholesale market. It seems like the word "hype" just isn't a part of PING's vocabulary.
Â
But something felt different when PING announced it would release two entirely new lines of clubs. PING actually seemed excited. In fact, PING was going out of their way to tell anyone and everyone that would listen that its new clubs had monumental improvements. Even if you didn't like PING in the past, you start to wonder, what did they come up with?
Â
The latest in Ping's G range of clubs the Ping G15 driver that has been released to the golf wholesale market for some time updates the technology that made the G10 driver the market leader. Like its predecessor the G15 has titanium head which reaches the 460CC maximum limit on headsize. To increase the moment of inertia or MOI the G15 has an elongated head from back to front which has lead to an improvement in MOI. This works in tandem with the G15 driver's 7% larger clubface to give more stability and forgiveness, even on those occasional off centre hits.
Â
The G15 also feature's Ping's ultra thin crown technology which reduces the weight of the top of the clubhead by six grams and redistributes the weight to the external sole weight pad which helps to move the centre of gravity lower and further back in the clubhead meaning that the G15 can provide golfers with the optimal trajectory of high launch combined with a low spin rate to help both carry and roll. The Ping G15 driver comes with either the TFC 149D or Aldila Serrano 60 Shaft.
Â
The Ping G15 driver is an interesting piece of equipment. At first glance it appears to be a traditionally shaped, large head driver of 460cc. However, upon closer inspection one can make out the triangular geometry of the club head. It is a new driver for which it is also not cheap, so, to cut down the cost by coming to golf wholesale.
