When I saw the Cleveland HiBore XLS Fairway Wood at the golf wholesale equipment store, I was surprised at the attractiveness of the actual club. Shortly after, I purchased an XLS 3 wood. The Cleveland HiBore XLS Fairway Wood is a very solid and has horsepower. Carpenter steel face is very hot and the feel at impact is amazing. The sound is a satisfying low thwack. Very forgiving, and the large head inspires confidence. Classy matte finish, and the overall appearance is surprisingly tasteful. You have to try it to be convinced.
TheCleveland HiBore XLS Fairway is 19 percent larger than the original HiBORE fairway, making it Cleveland Golf's largest face ever on a fairway wood. By drastically increasing the hitting area, results on mis-hits have dramatically improved.
24 percent larger head volume than the original HiBORE fairway increases MOI for more stability and very accurate shots. Larger size makes it look extremely hittable and creates slightly more spin to get the ball into the air easily.  Â
Distance Driven Geometryâ„¢
Moves weight lower and deeper in the clubhead. This optimized CG location aligns the Center of Gravity Projection (CGP) with the C.O.R. Hot Spot in the center of the face, resulting in optimal launch conditions and higher ball speeds for greater overall distance.
Energy Transfer Core
An engineered system of thin, lightweight titanium spines directs impact energy to the ball to create more efficient energy transfer and higher ball speeds.
Full Face Performance
Alignment of sweet spot and C.O.R. Hot Spot produces optimal launch conditions over a larger area of the face, maximizing ball speed for increased driving distance.
The stock shaft in the HiBore XLS Fairway Wood is the venerable Fujikura Fit-On with appropriate specs.
Â
The XLS face is fairly wide and low profile. Those who like to use fairway woods from the tees tend to prefer a deeper face.

Â
The logo on the toe, as you can see here, has changed from white to yellow in sunlight, indicating that this is not a knock-off.
Â
Â
The crown plaque serves as an alignment aid, but I prefer one closer to the clubface. Still, for a fairway wood, it's probably fine.

Shiny! The EZ Grab headcover is not a big feature, but it's a nice touch that eases taking the cover off. A second saved is… a second saved.
