Taylormade equipment has long been known for quality on the
golf course. With the R11 Driver we expected nothing but the same but to be
sure we had to test it out. When you first take a glance at the R11 you will
see that the driver is white with a black face on the driver. This has been
done to make it easier when you are addressing the ball. No longer will you
suffer from glare at the head of the driver and you can focus on your
shot.?br />
The real story of the R11 Driver is the adjustability to fit your game. With
the R11 you will find that Taylormade implemented a set of 3 key adjustment
factors. The adjustment of these three factors has been created so people can
adjust the club to allow for more distance and control on their shots. These
adjustments make this club the perfect driver for 18 holes. Taylormade has
named these the three dimensions to distance. The adjustments that can be done
are to loft, flight path and face angel. Let抯 go over these adjustments and
see how they work and if they can help with your game.?br />
First we start with the Movable Weight Technology. With this adjustment you
will be able to adjust 2 weights that allow you to adjust the centre of gravity
on the club. The weights can be found at the heel and toe ends of the driver.
When you adjust the weights you will affect the flight of the ball. You can
either move towards a draw or neutral path. You can adjust up to twenty five
yards each way.?br />
The Flight Control Technology or FTC that Taylormade is calling it will allow
adjustment to the loft angle of the club. You are given 8 different adjustment
angles that are separated by .5 degrees each.
The third part of our adjustments is the Adjustable Sole Plate or ASP. Here is
where you can adjust the face angle. Here you can change the clubface to open
or close by 2 degrees or a neutral position. The great part of this is now you
can adjust the face without touching your launch angle or loft.
All of these features give you a driver that will help improve your game from
the first swing. You also will find online at Taylormade that they have setups
for tour pros using the driver to help guide you to the perfect setting for
your game.
Overall you will find that this club is great for any course. With a little get
use to it you can adjust the driver to any course that you could imagine.
