This performance has not been beaten by any winner of Cheltenham Gold Cup after the War of Attrition. The winner for 2007 was Kauto Star who managed to score 18 runs to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Denman won the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2008 by fetching 12 runs but the very next year, that is, in 2009, Cheltenham Gold Cup was again won by Kauto Star. Kauto Star was able to score 16 runs to win this time. In 2010, the race for Cheltenham Gold Cup saw a new winner in Imperial Commander.
The races for Cheltenham Gold Cup are held at Cheltenham racecourse that is just a few minutes from Cheltenham town center. It is also at a short distance from the M5. On the days of races, people are allowed to enter the racecourse two hours before the races begin. The children below 18 years are of age are admitted for free during regular events. However, during The Festival in March, all children are charged dull rates.
