Is John Daly Every Mans Hero Or Worst Nightmare?

John Daly is back in the news with a tell-all book soon to be released and authored by his ex-wife, Sherrie Daly. I’m sure no one is too surprised that one of (four) his ex-wife’s is going to spill all of John’s dirty laundry; as if we don’t know about his past indiscretions already. But the thing that concerns me most, and should for all of you married golfers out there, is that here is another story about yet another golfer involved in improper sexual behavior, among other issues.

Sherrie Daly’s book, “Teed Off: My Life as a Player’s Wife on the PGA Tour,” will reveal how she caught John cheating on her and how she sent the explicit pictures of the mistress to everyone in the mistress’s cell phone address book with the message: “This is the (body part) of the woman I found in bed with my husband.”

Sherrie also talks about a golf course in Memphis (Southland, if you want to book your tee times now) where pro golfers (and public golfers) would be greeted at the 16th hole by a woman who would offer to give oral sex right then and there for $300.

In the book Sherrie sells out other PGA golfers and says that Tiger Woods is not the only player who has strayed and that there aren’t many devoted husbands on the tour. So far just Tiger and John top the headlines.

How much information about John Daly is too much information? Sherrie reveals a time when their kitchen was professionally painted and it turned out to be the wrong color so John, being John Daly, drops his drawers and urinates all over the wall showing his thoughts about the paint job.

Sherrie describes John’s biggest achievement in the casinos when, in five hours, he lost $1.65 million, yes in five hours. He has lost as much as $1 million in one hour.

Now I don’t condone what John has done in his personal life, we’ve all made mistakes, but this will only add to all of the suspicions that current wives have of their husbands while they’re out all weekend ‘golfing’ with their buddies. Your wife has never hit you with the ‘Tiger’ references, right? I thought so. I wonder what happened to golf as a ‘gentlemen’s game?’ There used to be a lot of respect and dignity associated with the game of golf and with professional golfers. Now golf has turned into every other sport with misbehaving star athletes. Let’s make golf the better sport again, respect the game and respect your wives! By the way, you should take your wife golfing if you don't already. Give her a chance to share your passion with you and she won't worry about what you're 'doing' on the golf course!
