Because I am from Canada, I thought I would do a feature on a Canadian golfer on the PGA tour for my fellow Canadians and all that are interested in the golfing Canadians. So let’s start with the number one in Canada David Hearn.
Well David was born in Brampton Ontario; Canada in 1979 went to the University of Wyoming working on a psychology degree where he also played on the golf team. David was named Rookie of The Year in 2002 just one year after turning pro.
Finishing in the top 10 at the Sony Open in Hawaii on January 15/2012 David Hearns makes a healthy $137,500.00 for his efforts giving David $179,619.00 for the seven events he has entered this year. I have said it before and I will say it again golfing is a lucrative sport if you have the drive and talent.
Hearn’s ranking for the Fed Ex Cup is 107th and 239 in the world golf rankings and has a scoring average of 70.83 points.
Hearn’s also has three Aces to his career all of them were on the Nationwide Tour, Movistat Panama Championship in 2007 again in 2007 at Albertsons Boise Open what a year for the Canadian making two Aces in the same year. The third Ace was at Panama Claro Championship in 2010.
Never actually coming in first place in any PGA event David Hearns stills stands at a whopping $1,318,531.00 for his career winnings, golf has been a wise career for David.
One of Hearns more famous holes would be the shot he made at the Travelers Championship in 2011 when he eagles the 15th hitting a 275 yard par 4, 6 feet away from the flag. Very close to his fourth Ace of a lifetime. With shooting like that, I think that David Hearn will eventually earn his fourth and fifth Ace and 2012 just could be Hearn’s year.
In 2011 at the Shell Houston Open Hearns was at his best with a tie for sixth place, the closest Hearns has ever come to winning a PGA event.
I wish David Hearn all the best in his upcoming PGA Tour Event at the Transitions Championships in Palm Harbour Florida. We will be watching the golfing Canadian make his best ever PGA Tour event and make it past his previous best of sixth place.
I like seeing a Canadian doing so well in the PGA Tour and giving us Canadians a voice in the world of golf. Show all the rest what we Canadians can do with a golf club in hand, good golfing David.
