I have just come back from the USA, where I had a few enjoyable days on the golf course. They certainly offer value for money which often leaves the UK and Europe in the shade. Of course, you have to add on the cost of getting there and back, which makes it out of the question for short breaks. I have been to the USA many times, and never cease to be impressed by the value for money that golf offers over there. They are also much quicker to respond to economic difficulties, offering discounts and packages which are simply staggering to the European golfer.

My own view is that this differential cannot last, and we in Europe will see prices becoming far more competitive over the next few years.
