How To Deal With Sand Shots at Maderas Golf Course

2016/7/19 16:27:38

If you are planning to take a break and do some San Diego Golf at Maderas Golf you will want to improve on your score. The key to do that is to improve on your sand shots. Sand shots are both the easiest and hardest shots in golfing. They are the easiest because you do not even have to hit the ball; hardest because few people spend the necessary time practicing them.

We will now look at some tips on how to improve your sand shots. If you can improve on these shots you will see your score card drop, as so many bogeys are caused by mistakes in the sand bunker.

The first step you must make is to get your ball / body position right. There are many positions recommended for sand shots. The easiest and most effective is to place yourself in the same position as when you drive from the tee. This will give your sand shots a clear and powerful stroke, which is what you need in these cases.

Length of Swing. The length of your swing will depend on the distance you want the ball to travel.

The depth of your back stroke will determine the strength of the shot. If you want to deliver a short shot make sure your back stroke is short. However, it is vital that you follow through the stroke till its completion. If you do not follow through the whole way the ball will most likely not move at all.

Buried Sand Shots. This is probably the hardest type of sand shot. This shot is also called the fried egg shot, due to how buried the ball is in the sand. When facing this kind of shot you need to change your perspective on the shot completely. It is vital that you hit the ball square on and dig your way through the sand until you connect with the ball.

How long your follow through is will decide the distance the ball will travel. Go for a high follow through finish for long sand shots.

Going for some San Diego Golf at Maderas Golf is the ideal way of practicing on your sand shots. Just remember the basics of these shots: ball position, length of swing and treating buried sand shots as a special case.
